Joel and Collin's Carnival Birthday

We assisted in hosting this party with mother, Christian Elliot. Her two boys are almost exactly a year apart by two days. Joel, turning 2 and his younger brother turning 1 (2 days before), it was sure to be DOUBLE the celebration. Mom said the word, and a carnival themed birthday started being planned.

This party took place at Lizemores, WV in the local elementary school gym. This gave the kids plenty of room to play. It was a gorgeous day outside, and everyone was ready to party! Side walk chalk was a simple and easy way to invite in the guests and give them a taste of what they were getting ready to experience.

"Admit one" tickets were supplied to all the kiddies. They could be earned by playing games or being involved in activities. Christian offered an assortment of grab items that could be stashed in the circus tent boxes provided next to our carny-candy buffet.

Treats on our carnival and circus inspired bar included: gumballs, circus peanuts, gummi bears, animal crackers, regular popcorn, cheese puffcorn, smarties, giant whirl circle lollipops, assorted lollipops and suckers, cotton candy, traditional candy apples, and turtle inspired carmel apples. Can you say yummy?
The birthday cake was made by Jennifer Lewis-Squires. It's colorful touch matched the day's theme perfectly. It was a moist and well decorated piece, completing the party's look. The handcrafted birthday hats to the side were made and supplied by Wild and Wonderful Weddings. They were mimicked from hats originally found online by Christian.

Centerpieces were also handmade pinwheels stashed into vases filled with gumballs.

Other touches we provided were homemade pennant carnival flags and stacked beverage dispensers filled with animal crackers and popcorn for display use.

We really want to thank the Elliots for letting us be apart of their day. The boys were so happy all day and excited for their party. The family and friends were all so welcoming to our cause, and we had a blast throwing the party. It hardly felt like work. :)
